Laugh Out Labs, the web3 company bringing laughter and humour to the web3 community is dropping the “NFTs Are a Joke” collection. The first drop in the series dubbed “It’s Just a Joke” is set to debut on May 15, 2023.
The collection features 52 joke cards showcasing the comedic stylings of top comedians including Norman Towns, Ksenia, Clayton Farris and Mark Serrittella. The featured comedians have also appeared in Emmy Award-winning shows on networks like HBO, Comedy Central, ABC, truTV, BET, Adult Swim and MTV.
Laugh Out Labs was founded by two music industry veterans with the goal of bringing comedy, culture and community to web3, whilst supporting various charitable causes.
The company seems to be living up to its promise with a portion of the proceeds from the first series of “NFTs Are a Joke” collection set to be donated to charities and organizations that support causes such as mental health, environmental conservation, and social justice.
Co-founder Jareiq ‘JQ’ Kabara is a music vet who has worked with the likes of Janet Jackson, Adekunle Gold, and Teyana Taylor, while Edward Ponton Jr, is a published songwriter and recording artist who has worked with the likes of Cool & Dre and Mase, among others.
Commenting on the upcoming drop JQ said: “We love the culture we’re bringing to web3 and we’re excited to build a community of like-minded individuals who enjoy comedy, connection and being a part of an exclusive group of people who value a good time, a good laugh and supporting each other on a truly human level.”
“NFTs Are a Joke” is not just a pack of JPEGs. Holding an “It’s Just a Joke” NFT will unlock several benefits for the collector.
According to Laugh Out Labs’ roadmap of experiences and events, the project will soon introduce the “Jokesters Podcast”, which features unique live event experiences where VIP and rising comedians can hang out, share hilarious stories, play games, and interact with special guests.

There are also plans to drop a LOLFace PFP Project and launch an exclusive merch store dubbed “Your Clothes Are Funny”.
Holders of the “It’s Just a Joke” NFTs and future drops gains access to these experiences, as well as, an IRL community event that will feature among others, comedy shows, live music, BBQ, free drinks, and a chance for a face to face meet up with VIP guests!.
The first series of 52 joke cards will be classified into three, including signature cards, silver cards and gold cards. The latter provides access to all benefits offered including discounted tickets to events, and exclusive access to merch and memorabilia, among others.
Holders also gain entry to community-only events, receive complimentary LOLFace PFP NFTs, exclusive access to submit a joke portal, private Zoom meetings, priority access to Jokesters podcasts, and a customized phygital gold-plated Joke Card, among others.
