OKX has launched a global ad campaign driven by its self-managed web3 wallet app. Dubbed “The System Needs a Rewrite”, the campaign is created in collaboration with New York-based agency BBDO.
The campaign comes amid the launch of a new feature in the wallet app that enables users to create PFP, or “profile picture”, NFTs with AI on its mobile app.
OKX is the world’s second-largest crypto exchange company. Over the past eighteen months, it has collaborated with some of the biggest brands in the world of sports including the English Premier League, Manchester City Football Club, and leading sports stars in F1 and Golf.
The campaign features a short YouTube video that tries to explain how the OKX Wallet App is fixing the current centralised systems.
Commenting on the campaign launch, Haider Rafique, Chief Marketing Officer of OKX, said: “There are two camps of thoughts. One side suggests we update existing systems to create a better world. The other believes we need a system re-write.”
“Our new campaign is a nod to those who believe we need to re-write the system into Web3. We envision a world where we all have more control, mobility and various ways to trade our assets,” Rafique added.
As part of the campaign, the OKX NFT Marketplace debuted its “AI Robot NFT Creative Contest” on Wednesday allowing users to create NFTs using AI for a chance to win a share of a prize pool worth 10,000 USDT.
The new feature allows users to create PFP NFTs based on their surroundings including facial characteristics, colours and aesthetics, among others. The feature is seen as an incentive for users to become NFT artists.
Each user can generate 10 prompts per day, choosing between 27 art styles. After creating their ideal custom NFTs, they can mint them free of charge via the “Lazy Minting” feature, which only triggers a gas fee cost during sales.
OKX has also collaborated with BTC Machines, a Bitcoin Ordinals-based ecosystem to launch an airdrop campaign called ‘BTC Machine Giveaway Raffle’. Users will have a chance to receive 326 NFT airdrops from BTC Machines’ portfolio of digital artefacts.
