Quick take:

- He has filed trademarks for NFTs and an NFT marketplace.
- He also plans to create a DAO which he has also filed a trademark for.
American YouTuber and social media personality Logan Paul is extending his brand into Web 3 as indicated by two trademark filings he made on Feb 4.
The first filing was made for ‘Originals by Logan Paul’, submitted under the NFT category covers “downloadable photographs, artwork, art reproductions, digital art files and image files, and videos authenticated by non-fungible tokens.” With this filing, it appears that Logan Paul is planning to launch his own NFTs.
The second filing was for Originals DAO. According to the application, the trademark covers “an on-line community for users to participate in discussions, connect with companies and individuals, form virtual communities and DAOs, engage in networking, establish work agreements and accept payments, transfer and stake cryptocurrency tokens, vote on community proposals, participate in a DAO.”
It also covers “provision of an online marketplace for buyers and sellers of downloadable digital collectibles, namely, photographs, artwork, art reproductions, digital art files and image files, and videos authenticated by non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for use online and in virtual environments” as well as “ a website featuring information in the field of selling and auctioning collectible items that are authenticated by non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for use online and in virtual environments”.
These trademark filings mark a bigger step into the NFT space for Logan Paul. The internet celebrity has been an NFT enthusiast since last year.

On Dec 25, he tweeted that he had acquired 139 NFTs and spent over $2.64 million. His first collection was the World of Women NFT project, which has been seeing significant buzz lately, espcially since Logan Paul sold a World of Women NFT in his collection to The Sandbox for 200 ETH.
With trademark wars and legal issues arising in the Web 3 space, and big brands filing for metaverse trademarks, Logan Paul’s latest trademark applications are a step in the right direction to protect his intellectual property rights as he expands into NFTs.
