Can you imagine having access to a playlist that only you and a select few members can access? Well, that is now a reality! Spotify is testing out this new feature with only a handful of NFT communities, and the lucky ones include gaming startup Overlord and Bored Ape band KINGSHIP.
This new pilot program is bound to bring the music community closer and allow them to experience the latest music like never before. Regular Spotify users will be unable to access the gated playlists, making the experience even more special for those who have access.
Overlord, a gaming ecosystem that has seen nearly $60 million in volume traded, is one of the lucky communities chosen to take part in the pilot. Holders of its Creepz NFT tokens can access the “Invasion” playlist by connecting their Web3 wallets on Spotify. Creepz are lizard-like creatures that feature in Overlord’s gaming ecosystem. This is just the beginning of Overlord’s audio adventure, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

Universal Music Group’s virtual band KINGSHIP has also announced a similar Spotify-linked service. The KINGSHIP Key Card NFT allows users access to a themed virtual world, unlock music, products, and other experiences, including a specially curated playlist accessible only for holders of the NFT. The playlist includes tracks from some of the biggest names in the music industry, such as Queen, Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg, and Led Zeppelin.
With this new feature, Web3 communities can curate exclusive music experiences, and the members can feel a sense of belonging, knowing that they are part of something unique.
