World-famous DJ and music producer, Steve Aoki, has been making headlines in the past year for his activities in the NFT space. Now, he’s upping the ante with the unveiling of his own metaverse and NFT membership platform, A0K1VERSE.
Built as a tokenised social club, A0K1VERSE is a “new ecosystem” that aims to “bridge real-world experiences between Web2 and Web3” by offering its members exclusive access to digital and physical perks from Steve Aoki and his brand partners and NFT collaborators.
Some of these exclusive perks include “free mints on NFTs, concert tickets, physical and digital collectibles along with an array of real-world and metaverse experiences all token gated through membership,” Aoki tweeted.
To enter the A0K1VERSE, members must possess A0K1 Credits and the Passport, which are the platform’s “core building blocks”, according to Aoki.
A0K1 Credits will be minted as ERC-1155 NFTs with a total supply of 30,000. The tokens will be airdropped to existing holders of Aoki’s previous NFT collection, Dream Catcher, which made over $4 million in March last year.
The pre-sale of A0K1 Credits will be open to holders of other NFT projects such as Adam Bomb Squad, Doodles, 0N1 Force, Deadfellaz, Phantabear, Doge Pound and more. A portion of the credits will be reserved for partnerships and giveaways while the remainder will be available for public sale.
A0K1VERSE and its Passport were created in collaboration with smart contract startup, Manifold. The startup is backed by VC firm Andreessen Horowitz for an undisclosed amount.
The Passport is an NFT that evolves over time and can be obtained by redeeming A0K1 Credits. It’s also Aoki’s way of providing utility to his fans and rewarding them for engaging in the community.
“Since I started my first company Dim Mak back in 1996 I have cared for, grown, and embraced the concept of community,” Aoki said. “Now as we look at the future of what our community wants, I believe that the utility needs to be diverse, engaging, and evolving with culture. This is where IRL meets meta – not just in my world but the many worlds I am a part of.
As passport holders engage in A0K1VERSE experiences by attending concerts and participating in the discord, their passports will be “stamped” to reflect participation levels and achievements.
Citizens of A0K1VERSE can also access “Passport-gated” experiences across six tiers, each of which has different numbers of exclusive experiences and rewards. They can also combine multiple passport NFTs to level up and unlock more benefits.
