Surreal Events has announced a multi-year partnership with GPU Multitenancy solution provider Streaming Global to boost the pixel-streaming capacity of its Platform-as-a-Service solution, Surreal EX (SR XP).
The two companies have signed a 3-year deal that will see Surreal leverage Streaming Global’s multitenancy GPU to allow more concurrent users in applications offering streaming experiences.
According to the announcement, the partnership will allow Surreal’s SR XP platform, which currently uses WebRTC protocol for pixel-streaming to scale its capacity from one GPU to one concurrent user to at least nine times that at lower rates and higher fidelity.

The collaboration will also allow brands and projects launching immersive experiences to leverage Streaming Global’s SG-RT pixel-streaming protocol for high visual quality while reducing the resources required for the deployment of their experiences.
The companies are looking to address one of the biggest challenges in scaling cloud infrastructure for metaverse experiences and spatial commerce, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The SG-RT allows brands to cut costs by reducing the requirements to launch new experiences, while the SR XP platform is now revamped to boost pixel-streaming capacity with GPU multitenancy.

Surreal’s metaverse Platform-as-a-Service is built using Unreal Engine 5, Epic Games’ 3D engine that allows developers to build photorealistic experiences. The platform is widely used by businesses and event organisers to host digital twins for physical venues.
